Read MoreIn 2019, Austin School of Film partnered with Mappathon™ to bring the projection mapping workshop taught & created by accomplished educator and artist CHIKA to Texas for the first time ever.
We hosted 15 students from all over the USA (yes, really) ranging from professors, creatives, filmmakers, students, club owners, photographers, fashion designers and more. This was many participants first chance to take the workshop with multimedia artist Chika. On the final day of the 2-day workshop, we hosted a public showcase of their installations & talk with the artist herself. This Spring 2020, we’re doing it all over again and you’re invited!
What do you get when you put women across film, video, and creative industries in one room? Last Saturday, we hosted dozens of women within Austin’s film, video, and creative industries for our free quarterly meet-up that we (Motion Media Arts Center) produce in conjunction with other women-led/women-run organizations. The goal of our quarterly meet-up (which btw: are completely free & open to any area woman to attend) is to meet, connect, and learn about women directly in our creative communities. From emerging media creators and student filmmakers to industry professionals and those new to town — each event has a little of it all!
