Class info & policies.

★ Before enrolling

What to know first.

Class size

Our classes are intentionally small, reflecting real-world filmmaking environments. All project-based MAKE SOMETHING classes are limited to 10–15 students, and workshops range from 8–12 students.

Ages

All classes are intended for adult students aged 18 and older, unless otherwise indicated on the individual class page. We host annual youth programs — see our Youth Camps section for those.

Schedule

Classes are released on a rolling basis each quarter. Please note the deadline to register on each individual class page — they may differ depending on the course.

Payment plans

Anyone is eligible for a payment plan if needed. Email classes@austinfilmschool.org to get started — we require 50% of tuition upfront and split the remaining balance into up to 2 equal payments.

Not sure where to start?

Schedule a free consult about classes and our certificate program — 15 minutes with someone on the team to help you find the right fit.

★ After enrolling

What to expect next.

Confirmation email

You'll receive a confirmation email shortly after enrolling, with essential details like class dates and times.

Class reminder

We send reminder emails 1–2 business days before your class starts. Make sure your registration email is accurate — reminders include location, instructor contact, code of conduct, and what to expect on day one.

Course syllabus

Your educator will provide a syllabus outlining topics, assignments, and other key information — given out on the first day or in advance, in either digital or paper form.

Communication with your educator

Stay tuned for emails or messages from your educator containing crucial class information throughout the course.

Certificate of completion

Our classes are certified by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to offer Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits. Certificates of completion can be requested.
