With over 20 years of experience in youth education, our 2025 media camps are tailored for 6th-12th graders of all skill levels to explore film, animation, and other media arts.
These intimate camps, with 12-15 students limit each, offer a personalized and immersive experience, allowing participants to learn hands-on with experienced educators from the local Creative Industries using real production equipment.

SUMMER 2025 SCHEDULE
Each camp runs for one week, totaling 35 hours from 10:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Youth participants are welcome to sign up for multiple sessions!
MIDDLE SCHOOL (6TH-8TH GRADE)

WHO CAN JOIN?
Austin School of Film's 2025 camp is designed for MIDDLE SCHOOL (6th-8th graders) and HIGH SCHOOL (9th-12th graders). No prior experience in film or animation is required to participate!
WHAT IF THE CAMP IS FULL?
Our limited spots maintain an ideal camper-to-educator ratio, ensuring a high-quality experience in film & media arts. If a camp sells out, join our waitlist for automatic notification of open spots.
CAN I PAY IN INSTALLMENTS?
We do offer flex plans! Secure your spot with a 50% deposit of tuition, and split the remaining balance into two equal monthly payments. To request a payment plan, please contact classes@austinfilmschool.org.
WHATS INCLUDE IN THE CAMP?
Camp hours: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm, including a 30-minute onsite lunch break and additional breaks, totaling 35 hours per week.
All-inclusive: Camp tuition covers equipment and software access; no additional fees.
Camp perks: Complimentary summer camp tee, tote bag, notebook, pen, and sticker pack.
Showcase: End-of-camp showcase for participants with catered food (Friday at 4pm of each camp)
Official Showcase: 2 complimentary tickets per family to the end-of-summer official showcase in August at Alamo Drafthouse (additional tickets available for purchase, limited for fairness).
We do not provide onsite food. Campers are expected to their own bring lunch, snack, and a reusable water bottle. We have a filtered clean water machine available, microwave, fridge, and freezer on campus.
WHEN REGISTERING
After you complete the initial intake form when clicking “register” on the camp(s) of your choice, you must complete the check-out process of your registration at your cart. You must complete this process and pay the camp tuition/payment plan fee to be fully registered.

Get ready to dive into the thrilling world of cinema at Austin School of Film’s award-winning Digital Filmmaking Camp! Going strong for TWO DECADES helping youth tell their stories and learn the craft of filmmaking.
Guided by industry professionals & educators, this camp takes young creators through the entire filmmaking journey—from concept and screenwriting to production and post-production. Campers will work hands-on with real cameras, lighting, and sound equipment in our studios and bring their stories to life with cutting-edge editing software in our lab. Designed to be both beginner-friendly and full of hands-on excitement, this camp lets youth experience the true art of filmmaking.
In “crew format”, campers will collaborate, share ideas, and produce their own short films, gaining practical skills and invaluable experience every step of the way. By camp’s end, they’ll have created 1-2 five-minute narrative films, ready for a big-screen debut!
SCREENING SHOWCASE: All short films will debut at an end-of-camp screening with complimentary food & drink for family & friends. We’ll also feature all work completed in 2025 Summer Camp at an official showcase at Alamo Drafthouse in August 2025.

Join our award-winning Music Video Production Camp where youth students work with real filmmakers and musicians to make an OFFICIAL music video for a local band.
Building on the success of our acclaimed filmmaking camps, this hands-on program invites young artists to explore the intersection of music, visuals, and storytelling by working as a crew alongside a professional crew and a real local band.
In this immersive camp, participants will collaborate to produce a compelling music video from start to finish, using industry-standard tools, gear, and building sets and props. Campers will dive deep into every step of the process—brainstorming ideas, planning scenes, shooting, and editing—all while developing practical skills in camera operation, lighting, sound, and capturing dynamic b-roll for added mood and atmosphere.
Guided by local filmmakers, educators, and musicians, each camper will gain valuable technical skills and experience working in a professional-style crew, bringing their unique vision to life on screen.

WHAT ARE THE CAMP SIZES?
All camps are limited to 12-15 students.
We have two decades of experience and the expertise of developing award-winning film & media education programs. Throughout many years of running award-winning programs, there are two core main beliefs with implore through our programs:
We a believe students should have a beneficial teacher to student ratio.
We believe smaller than typical “camp” is key to ensure strong skills building, hands-on learning, peer to peer bonding, and individual attention + mentoring.
WHERE ARE THE CAMPS LOCATED?
All animation camps will take place at BAKER HOUSE aka BAKER CENTER, a historic school located centrally in Hyde Park (3908 Avenue B, Austin, TX 78751).
All filmmaking camps (digital filmmaking & music video production) will take place at our HQ.
Parents will be sent a reminder email 5 days before camp begins with the check-in process, what to expect on the first day of camp, and any other important details to share!

WHAT YOU NEED TO PARTICIPATE
All in-person camps include everything needed (computers, software, and film/animation equipment).
WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?
Cancellations made 30 days or more before the camp start date are eligible for a full refund or credit. Cancellations made within 30 days of the camp’s start date are non-refundable and non-creditable. Please note that all summer camp tuition is non-transferable.
