Creative Focus + Final Presentation

This residency supports a wide range of media arts practices, including photography, filmmaking, video installation, and performance art with media components. Over six months, residents will have the opportunity to focus on their creative work, develop new projects, and grow their artistic resumes.

Each resident will wrap up their experience by sharing their work with the public through an artist talk, final exhibition, or hands-on workshop — offering a space to engage the community, receive feedback, and expand their professional network.

The Artists in Motion Residency and Exhibition Program is designed for emerging media artists who are 21 years or older, based in Austin or the surrounding areas, and have not previously exhibited their work or participated in residency opportunities. This program seeks creators who are looking to develop their craft in a supportive, resource-rich environment and are eager to expand their artistic practices.

If you are a media artist working in fields such as photography, film, video installations, or performance art with media components, and you have not had formal exposure or access to residency programs, this is the perfect opportunity for you to grow your portfolio, gain new skills, and connect with the local arts community.

This residency is particularly suited for artists who are ready to take their work to the next level, with a focus on expanding creative boundaries and engaging with the community through public exhibitions, artist talks, or workshops.
