Join us for Color Arc Productions’ 2nd Annual STORIES ABOUT live storytelling show STORIES ABOUT BIRTH ORDER at the Austin Cinemaker Space. This year each teller will share a true short story about how being the firstborn, middle child, only, twin, or the baby of the family shaped their lives.

Join the Austin Arts Foundation and Austin School of Film for a special screening of Blood In, Blood Out (1993), featuring a live appearance by star Carlos Carrasco. The evening kicks off with an outdoor lowrider car show, followed by the film.

Stay for the after-party with DJs, live music, performances, and delicious Mexican dishes from Achiote ATX! After-party tickets available at the door for $10 starting at 7pm.

Celebrate the vibrant diversity of Hispanic and Latino/a/x/é art at the special opening of the Latino/a/x/é Exhibition. The gallery opens at 7:00 PM, followed by a panel discussion at 7:30 PM with Blood In, Blood Out stars Jesse Borrego and Carlos Carrasco, alongside community leaders. This panel discussion aims to provide examples of environmental justice, demonstrate ways that youth are getting involved, and showcase how various communities are responding, both nationally and in Austin.

There is a pervading narrative that only certain types of bodies can be classified as “outdoorsy.” This panel discussion will focus on the ways that natural spaces are frequently inaccessible or unwelcome to bodies that don’t fit the “traditional” outdoor enthusiast profile.

Croom’s newest album is dropping in October, hear it here first!

Croom as a composer has credits ranging from the From Dusk Till Dawn TV show to writing albums for ESPN to music featured in UFC. 

Croom’s latest album Belladonna is his most remarkable work yet, featuring the vocal talents of an international roster of artists, Amakiya, Allanah Maarteen and the Berlin-based musician Audriana Acuña, anchoring it is the masterful mixing work of Dylan Cameron (S U R V I V E, Troller), and Grammy-nominated masterer Chris Athens (Drake, Billie Eilish). 

Croom is composing the score for The Initiation, starring American Horror Story’s Naomi Grossman and recently finished scoring Realm of Shadows featuring Candyman’s Tony Todd and Mad Max’s Vernon Wells.

ABOUT STAGE ONE

The Filigree Theatre presents STAGE ONE, a staged reading workshop series introducing new works from both established and up-and-coming screenwriters & playwrights. The projects are performed by professional actors for an invited audience and fellow industry members. The dual goal of the series

is both to bring together emerging artists (writers, actors & directors) and to champion

great new written works. The writers selected for the STAGE ONE workshops have the

benefit of hearing their works performed in front of an audience and will be considered

for the Filigree Theatre season (stage plays) or by EVN Productions (screenplays).
