FUTURE OF FILM
The Future of Film is a transformative initiative by our Community Film School, Austin School of Film, which has a two-decade history of serving the East Austin community.
Future of Film is dedicated to making high-quality film and media arts education accessible to everyone, regardless of financial or systemic barriers. This year-round program offers tuition-free classes and workshops for both adults and youth, including professional development courses and workforce training, as well as immersive summer camps for 6th-12th graders. By providing access to cutting-edge technology, expert mentorship, and a creative community, the Future of Film Fund empowers participants to explore their creative potential and amplify their voices.
EDUCATION ACCESS FOR 18+
Are you interested in being part of the next generation of storytellers?
Austin School of Film's FUTURE OF FILM program is dedicated to making education accessible to everyone by breaking down financial barriers.
Participants can tailor their learning experience to their artistic and professional goals by scheduling one-on-one meetings with us to create a personalized plan. They will receive tuition-free access to classes and a complimentary membership to our studio and workspace program, which includes access to a computer lab, creative software, equipment, and more. This comprehensive support ensures that participants can effectively pursue their creative projects both inside and outside the classroom.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
This application is open to participants ages 17+ with priority access given to those who often encounter obstacles in accessing education, resources, and opportunities due to institutional, systemic, and financial barriers. This program is created for local residents of Austin and the surrounding areas.

EDUCATION ACCESS FOR YOUTH PROGRAMS
We invite 6th-12th graders in the Central Texas area to join the youth edition of FUTURE OF FILM, a week-long summer camp experience in film and media arts!
Youth participants will immerse themselves in the exciting world of filmmaking, creative media, music production, and even analog filmmaking. This unique opportunity empowers young creatives to explore diverse aspects of media arts, develop new skills, and unleash their creativity.
