NARRATIVE FILMMAKING INTENSIVE
Applications open September 1, 2025 for Spring 2026.
This course is: In-Person, Limited to 6 Students, and Appplication Based
Austin School of Film’s Narrative Filmmaking Intensive is a 10-week program for emerging filmmakers who already have a strong foundation in the craft and are ready to take their work to the next level.
Designed as both a course and a hands-on mentorship, this intensive is for those who not only want to make more films, but who also want meaningful, personalized guidance to strengthen their voice, refine their storytelling, and deepen their artistic vision. Rooted in independent filmmaking and driven by the art of storytelling, the program focuses on creating work that is authentic, personal, and bold.
Over the course of the intensive, every participant will write, direct, and produce their own 5–10 minute short film, guided step-by-step by experienced instructors and industry mentors. The intentionally small cohort allows us to provide tailored feedback, direct access to professional production tools, and support through every stage—from script to screen. Each completed film will premiere to the public in Spring 2026 as part of our Film & Friends Showcase, celebrating the creativity and hard work of the entire cohort.
