Austin School of Film has partnered with Black Magic Design to teach certified classes in DaVinci Resolve! Earlier this year, Austin School of Film made a formal (exciting) announcement on becoming a Certified Training Partner with Resolve. Intro and DaVinci Resolve Color Correction is now a part of our video and audio post production offerings and we couldn’t be more excited to train the community on this amazing and powerful editing software. We are the ONLY Certified Training Partner in Texas currently that is open to the community.

Essentials Creative Hosts Free Portrait/Collage Workshop At Our HQ!

On July 3, Essentials Creative will lead a completely free workshop on portraits/collage work - using their very own techniques used in previous installations. Students will learn about the pre-production, production, and post-production process. This includes using reference images, styling, modeling, printing, and collaging their own expressive portraiture. Participants are encouraged to bring their own fashion items and be ready to get their portrait taken! The workshop will be held at our HQ at 2200 Tillery Street and is open to all ages.

Filmmaker John Valley Teaches You How To Produce A Music Video

Austin is a city known for its music industry and musicians, with our official motto being the "Live Music Capital of the World". On any given night you can find a hundred venues showcasing a wide variety live music performances. Further, film and music intersect constantly within creative industries and curating video to sound or scoring (or vice versa) is just as important as the actual film production. Austin School of Film's Creative Filmmaking: Music Video Production class is designed to give you insight into the practical concerns involved with completing a music video from top to bottom with an industry filmmaker. Students will be guided hands-on to create a cinematic music video.
