Essentials Creative Hosts Free Portrait/Collage Workshop At Our HQ!
Essentials Creative is a visual arts collective exploring photography, graphic design, video, art installation and collaboration, based in Austin/San Antonio, Texas.
Since our launch of Austin Cinemaker Space at 2200 Tillery Street - Essentials Creative has been a consistent member of our creative coworking makerspace program, creating unique works of digital art & media and working with a incredibly diverse arts community from musicians on Holodeck Records to fashion designers and visual artists. As part of their membership with us, they’re able to access low-cost studio space, a 4,000 sq ft. general creative co-working area, and other useful amenities for multimedia artists. We are thrilled to have them as members of our community!
On July 3, Essentials Creative will lead a completely free workshop on portraits/collage work - teaching their very own techniques used in previous installations. Students will learn about the pre-production, production, and post-production process. This includes using reference images, styling, modeling, printing, and collaging their own expressive portraiture. Participants are encouraged to bring their own fashion items and be ready to have their portrait taken! The workshop will be held at our HQ at 2200 Tillery Street and is open to all ages.

“ We believe that public art has a responsibility to engage with the community.”
- Essentials Creative
This workshop is in conjunction with the TEMPO program through the City of Austin’s Art in Public Places (AIPP) program of the Cultural Arts Division, Economic Development Department.
Through the TEMPO program, twelve local artists were selected to create hand-painted murals, vinyl adhesive artwork, and fiber art at locations across Austin including public parks, the Austin Bergstrom International Airport, and other high-profile locales - Essentials Creative is one! Their site for their new art-in-public-places is 4801 Bolm Road.
For the entire month of July - all memberships at Austin Cinemaker Space are 25% off & include a Limited Edition Austin Cinemaker Space tee - no discount code needed. Whether you’re an artist-led team or an individual creative from small business to filmmaker - we’ve created a multi-media multi-use arts space we’d love you to explore!
Austin Cinemaker Space is low-cost creative coworking makerspace designed for creatives and run by the artists of nonprofit arts organization, Motion Media Arts Center. All current staff & team members are creatives themselves within the community. #comecreatewithus
