NYC-based Japanese Artist Chika Teaches You Projection Mapping

In 2019, Austin School of Film partnered with Mappathon™ to bring the projection mapping workshop taught & created by accomplished educator and artist CHIKA to Texas for the first time ever.

We hosted 15 students from all over the USA (yes, really) ranging from professors, creatives, filmmakers, students, club owners, photographers, fashion designers and more. This was many participants first chance to take the workshop with multimedia artist Chika. On the final day of the 2-day workshop, we hosted a public showcase of their installations & talk with the artist herself. This Spring 2020, we’re doing it all over again and you’re invited!

Filmmaker John Valley Teaches You How To Produce A Music Video

Austin is a city known for its music industry and musicians, with our official motto being the "Live Music Capital of the World". On any given night you can find a hundred venues showcasing a wide variety live music performances. Further, film and music intersect constantly within creative industries and curating video to sound or scoring (or vice versa) is just as important as the actual film production.
