Radical Cinema Showcase (Interactive Virtual Screening)

FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC / 18+ ONLY / CURATED BY AUSTIN SCHOOL OF FILM

In September 2020, we opened submission up to the globe. This is the result.

In this installment of our ongoing “Sips & Cinema” virtual screening series, we’re revealing a short film showcase of submissions from YOU that we’ve curated centered around radical cinema, social change, and social justice.

Our twist on “dinner and movie” but with drinks, radical indie cinema, community, and conversation — open to the public, open to the world. We hope this virtual experience sparks meaningful conversations and a platform to showcase your work to a broad audience. Near and far.

The event will also include a guest filmmaker/bartender Nico Treviño (he/his) who will curate two special drinks that we’ll make live together with all the attendees before the screening begins. All registered ticket holders will receive an exclusive digital recipe card emailed 24 hours before the event begins.

Selected films + filmmakers:

  • The Rat Devourer — Jonathan Ostos Yaber (Ciudad de México, México)

  • A Separation — Mateo Vargas (Little Elm, Texas)

  • LAPWOC: An Introduction — Eric Brehm (Austin, Texas)

  • Remember Love — Samuel Diaz Fernandez (Austin, Texas)

This event is free & open to the public. The suggested donation at check-out is $5, which will directly support the continuation of workshops such as this.

Ticket deadline: October 15 (Thursday) at 12pm CT
