Motion Media Arts Center is thrilled to announce our move to a NEW FACILITY! Stay tuned for more exciting details, including specs and a layout of the new venue space designed for the community.

For over 23 years, Motion Media Arts Center, an East Austin nonprofit, has been a hub for local arts, including film, music, dance, theatre, and more. As a producing organization, we not only curate and showcase talented artists and filmmakers year-round but also provide affordable venue access for indie artists and small to medium-sized organizations.

WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE?

✔️ We offer a all ages arts venue and additional studio spaces to the community & arts organizers.

✔️ We amplify and support underrepresented art and artists through exhibitions & screening series.

✔️ We offer year-round education and equipment access to the public at large through our community film school program Austin School of Film and our studio access program Austin Cinemaker Space.

✔️ We are an artist-controlled space with over 50% of staff reflecting BIPOC & LGBTQ+ artists and filmmakers.

✔️ We are led by an Executive Director who was born & raised in East Austin; putting an emphasis on helping to stop the displacement of East Austin’s rich culture.
