Motion Media Arts Center, an East Austin arts nonprofit with 23 years of service, operates a 14,000 sq. ft. facility at 2200 Tillery Street, featuring a dedicated 4,300 sq. ft. venue for various local arts, including film, music, dance, theatre, and more.
As a producing organization, we curate and showcase talented artists and filmmakers year-round, while also offering community access to book our venue for indie artists and small to medium-sized organizations.
WHAT MAKES US UNIQUE?
✔️ We offer a all ages arts venue and additional studio spaces to the community & arts organizers.
✔️ We amplify and support underrepresented art and artists through exhibitions & screening series.
✔️ We offer year-round education and equipment access to the public at large through our community film school program Austin School of Film and our studio access program Austin Cinemaker Space.
✔️ We are an artist-controlled space with over 50% of staff reflecting BIPOC & LGBTQ+ artists and filmmakers.
✔️ We are led by an Executive Director who was born & raised in East Austin; putting an emphasis on helping to stop the displacement of East Austin’s rich culture.

We recommend reaching out via inquiry form below at least 1-3 months in advance of your event for booking to ensure that there is space as we tend to book up fast and do have a limited capacity as a nonprofit venue.
Our venue rental is $150/hr with a minimum of 4 hours (including set up & breakdown). This includes full access to the 4,300 venue space + A/V + stage + chairs + tables plus other cool items you can “set dress” your event with.
Mobile walls throughout the space to break the space up for your curation.
Access to our A/V tech for an additional hourly fee who can run audio/visuals for your event
Active members of our studio workspace program AUSTIN CINEMAKER SPACE and local nonprofits receive 10% off all venue booking fees.
We book events at minimum 30 days in advance.
You may find this process a little bit different as we are not driven by bar or ticket sales but by community impact! If that’s something you align with, we’d love to hear from you.
