Join us for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young filmmakers and artists as a Youth Arts Education Internship for Film & Media Arts Camp 2025! As an intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our campers, educators, and staff, directly assisting educators with all aspects of the camp.
This internship requires a minimum commitment of 5 weeks and is open to two individuals: one to assist with Animation Camps and one to assist with Film/Music Video Camps. Interns will support programming for both middle school and high school-aged youth.
Ideal candidates will have experience working with children and be actively pursuing a career in film or media arts.
This is more than just an internship—it’s a meaningful stepping stone on your creative journey, offering hands-on experience both in the classroom and in mentorship. You’ll help guide and inspire the next generation of storytellers while deepening your own skills as an emerging film/media professional.
Patience, a passion for youth education, and prior experience working with kids are essential.
Internship Timeline & Compensation Details
Duration: 5 weeks
Orientation: Teacher Camp Orientation on Monday, May 26 from 10 AM to 2 PM (lunch provided)

June 2 - 6
June 9 - 13
June 16 - 20
June 23 - 27
July 7 - 11
Daily Hours: 9 AM to 5 PM
Location: Austin, Texas
Stipend: Each assistant will receive a contract-based stipend of $2,000, paid in weekly installments over the 5 weeks.
Additional Perks:
$1,000 Education Credit: Eligible for complimentary enrollment in any Austin School of Film adult courses, totaling up to $1,000 in tuition for one calendar year.
On-Site Amenities: Complimentary snacks and drinks available throughout the program.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the direct Teaching Assistant (TA) for educators, providing support in activity implementation, and camper supervision.
Assist with the day-to-day operations of the camp, including coordinating activities, managing supplies, and ensuring the safety and well-being of campers.
Help create a fun and engaging environment that fosters creativity and learning for campers.
Assist with administrative tasks, such as tracking attendance, organizing camper evaluations, and preparing materials for activities.
Requirements:
Experience working with children
Basic film technical knowledge, including operating basic film equipment.
Creative mindset and a passion for working with youth.
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of campers and staff.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Additional Information:
This internship provides valuable experience in youth education and camp management.
Applicants must be located within Austin, Texas, for the duration of the internship.
Camps are small in size, with 10-12 campers per camp and a ratio of 2 adults to 10-12 campers.
Option to receive college or school credit.
