SXSW 2017 Quick Review: Game of Death

I hate to simplify this and say it's just gory death Jumanji but not as creative....but it is basically just gory death Jumanji but not as creative. A group of unlikable teens find a game while partying that proposes that they kill or be killed. What follows is a lot of style over substance with decent gore effects, some cool design choices, and a lot of references to manatees(?) (yeah, guess it went over my head). Ultimately the movie goes into chaotic, dark territory but is a fun quick watch if you can stomach and tolerate it.-Kyle
