Join us for a night of experimental filmmaking as we celebrate some of the most celebrated pioneers throughout history and discuss their life's works and must-see pieces.

We have carefully curated films from the 1920's such as Hans Richter, to 1940's and 60's which such artists as Maya Deren, Stan Brakage and David Lynch leading us to the exciting films of the 70's and 80's with excerpts from Kenneth Anger to present time filmmakers and visual arts. This screening will be introduced and lead by Faiza Kracheni, ASoF Education & Programs Director + local artist/filmmaker.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Cordelaine (Corey) Kline is an Austin based filmmaker and digital arts teacher. Kline is currently making a romantic comedy web series called Jim the Jerk. Kline also operates a digital arts summer camp where he instructs 9-18 year olds about iPhoto, Garageband, iMovie, Scratch, and MS Office. Kline has worked as an Assistant Camera/2nd AC on 3 feature films. Kline graduated from the University of Iowa Cinema Program where he produced and DP'd a feature film called Diary of a Superhero which won the Award of Excellence from Iowa Motion Picture Association. DETAILS: We will be discussing the visual effects of british science fiction drama film MOON with multi-platform artist + ASoF instructor Caegan Meagher with screening to follow.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Ceagan Meagher is a local multi-platform artist in motion graphics, visual effects, photography, videography, audio/video editing and workflow management. His client work includes Verizon Wireless, Barnes and Noble, AT&T, Dell and T-Mobile among others. Additional skills and interests blanket the spectrum in 3D, projection mapping, photogrammetry and VR.
