BossbabesATX May '19 Community Meet-Up

  • Motion Media Arts Center 2200 Tillery Street Austin, TX, 78723 United States (map)

#bossbabesatx Community Meet-up
May 21, 2019 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm
at Austin School of Film in Austin, Texas :)

It’s time to cook up a little personal and professional synergy. 〰️ Come through for one of our classic quarterly meet-ups on May 21!

With a selection of local vendors and opportunities to mingle, the night will begin with three stories on creative collaboration and community building from inspiring thought leaders living and working in Austin, Texas. After our speakers hit the stage, we’ll feature 25+ community announcements from women and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and organizers.

All people and professions welcome.

— ON THIS MEET-UP'S THEME: BIG SYNERGY —

synergy (n.): the benefit that results when two or more agents work together to achieve something either one couldn't have achieved on its own.

It's the concept of the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. In life, at work and in our communities, synergy is that space where the magic happens—where things fall into place, values align and our ideas find a home.

So, what does professional and personal synergy look like? How do we reject cultures of comparison and approach collaboration? How do we protect our own energy as we navigate opportunities, success and failures? This Spring, our meet-up (and our programs at-large) will serve as a moment to hear from and amplify women and nonbinary leaders in our community who create synergy through their work.

About #bossbabesATX: We’re a Texas-based nonprofit that amplifies and connects women and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and organizers. We create space to share our crafts, catalyze multi-industry coalitions, promote intersectionality across disciplines, seek guidance and provide each other with practical and emotional resources. Anyone interested in our mission, core values, and initiatives are invited to participate—and learn more about how intersectional gender equality can improve their daily lives. We provide 1500 opportunities to women and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and community organizers per year. More than 15,000+ community members also annually attend our showcases, markets and dialogues—and in the last three years, our programs generated an additional $1million for the Austin economy. So, whether you apply to participate in one of our programs, attend our workshops, conferences and dialogues, or come out to a festival or market to support the community we’re building, you’re a member of this movement. All babes, all people, are welcome. :) Learn more at bossbabes.org.
