Youth Cinema Collective Screening: Origin Stories

ORIGIN STORIES is the culmination of YCC's fall semester of filmmaking. Delving deep into questions of identity and purpose, Origin Stories features six short films about how we got here - from coming-of-age stories of identity to searing indictments of the world we live in. The films featured were filmed over the course of two months this Fall, and feature original student work at every level, from writing through production through editing and sound. Together, the films weave a complicated tapestry of identity, society, and purpose, asking the question "Who am I?" both in relation to ourselves and to other people around us, and exploring the way the roles we play in the world affect our origins.
