This Thursday, March 1st, is Amplify Austin Day, our community's annual day of giving run the local non-profit I Live Here. I I Give Here. And for the 3rd year in a row, Austin School of Film @ Motion Media Arts Center will be participating!

Over the past five years, Amplify Austin has raised over $35 Million for hundreds of local organizations in Austin, Texas, with 2017 being the biggest year yet: $9.8 Million raised for 700 Central Texas nonprofits. So for 24-hours, you as community member will get the chance to show some love to your favorite non-profits and celebrate the people who make Austin, Texas the most eclectic, amazing cities in America!

In early 2016, the first year we participated in Amplify Austin, Austin School of Film @ Motion Media Arts Center revealed news that would bring exciting opportunities to not only the Austin community but the non-profit itself. We announced that we had been working on securing and fundraising for our new home - a 20,000 square foot repurposed industrial warehouse in East Austin where we expanded our membership services under the name Austin Cinemaker Space, built low-cost studios, added more services to members such as larger iMac computer lab, art tools and access to supplies.

This has become a space for creatives of all ages to learn, create and consume art, film and technology. While this project is still very young, we have found that "if you build it, they will come" is an understatement. We're working feverishly to keep up with the demands local creatives have displayed, and pushing to expand our own capacity to fulfill even more aspiring artistic dreams.

With your support, we can continue to thrive, and our community can continue to thrive.
