SXSW Quick Review: Most Beautiful Island

The debut feature from Ana Asensio is a study in tension and suspense...but only as it moves into the climax of the final act. What comes before is subtle sometimes meandering character building of an immigrant woman trying to make ends meet in the big apple, but the pay off is well worth it. It's a quiet, simmering movie that showcases a fresh and new voice of a director to watch.-Kyle
