ABOUT THE FILM

The spotlight is beaming on drag shows and a passion play in a small Arkansas town.

The Gospel of Eureka takes a personal and often comical look at negotiating differences between religion and belief through performance, political action and partnership. With verve, humor and unfailing compassion, Michael Palmieri and Donal Mosher build unexpected bridges between religious faith and sexual orientation. Official Selection, 2018 SXSW Film Festival.

ABOUT THE SERIES

This new doc series shares queer stories from across the globe while building community right here in Austin, Texas.

Hot Takes emerged because the programmers know that being queer rules!

They also understand that, perhaps, it's been easy to forget that lately as legislation attacking the LGBTQIA+ community continues to move forward in Texas. In light of this they wanted to host a series that centered queer lives, trans experiences, and drag queens.

This series invites everyone to join in for some queer, wholesome fun; to rest and renew; to be with community and to play! Texas Queer Joy forever.

ABOUT THE PARTNERS

The National Center for Transgender Equality advocates to change policies and society to increase understanding and acceptance of transgender people. In the nation’s capital and throughout the country, NCTE works to replace disrespect, discrimination, and violence with empathy, opportunity, and justice.

NCTE envisions a society in which transgender people not only survive, but thrive, with accepting families and communities, full self-determination over their identities and bodies, and freedom from disrespect, discrimination and violence. For this vision to become a reality, we must also create equity, equal opportunity, safety, health and economic wellbeing for all people over their entire lifetimes.

POV (a cinema term for “point of view”) is America’s longest-running non-fiction series.
