This year's 6th annual Austin Youth Film Festival will be partnering with Austin School of Film for a unique rolling workshop at it's festival on May 19th at Alamo Drafthouse Mueller.
All youth attendees of AYFF 2018 can partake in the workshop for free led by experimental filmmaker + MMAC Program Director Faiza Kracheni. This creative 16mm workshop will explore the highly experimental world of creating motion pictures entirely without a camera. Students will be shown examples of 16mm Direct Animation and be able to implore the techniques to create hands-on in real-time!
All final 16mm files will be transferred to digital to create a super special super short abstract direct animation short film.
