Hyperreal Film Club specializes in creating unique movie-watching experiences in unusual, thoughtful, and immersive pop-up environments; amplifying local filmmakers and their work; and building space to explore film through the written word.

In 2019, they launched LIFTED TRACES ~ an immersive film experience (which they hosted at our HQ) featuring live scoring, theatrics, and interactive experiences. In 2020, they launched an online film review series partnering with local arthouse theaters such as AFS Cinema and Violet Crown.

More-than-just-a-film-series, this artfully underground collective has showcased over 200 Texas filmmakers over the last three years. The multidisciplinary artists behind the club (Jenni, Tanner, and Michael) will be joining PLAY AT HOME to talk, hang, and discuss low-budget/DIY media creation, building community around cinema, and creating connections through filmmaking.
