FILM TALKS 003: "I Love Dick" Screening + Conversation

  • Motion Media Arts Center 2200 Tillery Street Austin, TX, 78723 United States (map)

From Jill Soloway, the Emmy award winning creator of Transparent, and playwright Sarah Gubbins, comes the new Amazon Original series I Love Dick. Set in Marfa, Texas, Dick tells the story of a struggling married couple, Chris (Kathryn Hahn) and Sylvère (Griffin Dunne), and their obsession with a charismatic professor named Dick (Kevin Bacon). An exploration of the female gaze and how we tell stories about love and desire, I Love Dick charts the evolution of a marriage, the awakening of an artist and the deification of a man named Dick.

Join us at 7PM for free drinks provided by Dulce Vida Tequila. At 8PM we will be screening episodes 1 and 5 from the current season followed by a conversation about Female Representation and Femme Desire in Media led by "Seen with Miranda" podcast host Miranda Wylie.

This event is free and open to the public, but please RSVP in advance below.
