All Out of Life
WATCH IT HERE!
Metal band Slipknot's latest song and music video was released on Halloween last week. It's been 4 years since Slipknot's last music release, and this song brings back some of their darker elements since when the band first started in 1995. The music video is directed by M. Shawn Crahan also known as "Clown", a percussionist in the 9 member band. Throughout the band's career Shawn has consistently been the leader in constructing the bands unique identity when it comes to not only their music videos but their appearance (iconic masks and jumpsuits) and public demeanor. I recommend checking out their collection of music videos to experience the ever evolving dark, bloody, sadistic imagery.

You Go To My Head
WATCH THE TRAILER HERE!
To begin, I don't know where you can find this film as of right now. I have been assisting with a Film Festival's selection process, and this absolutely stunning film came up. It might be a bold declaration, but some of the visuals in this truly unusual thriller are comparable to "Lawrence of Arabia," with how it captures vistas, minimalism, and just showcasing the story. Keep it on your radar, and for sure add it to your watchlist for something to keep your eyes open for, because this is one of the most beautiful films I have seen in recent memory.

the bird and the bee - Polite Dance Song
WATCH IT HERE!
Eric Wareheim once ordered a drink at Butterfly Bar while I was also ordering a drink at Butterfly Bar. So that was really neat. And, wow, would you look at that? An incredibly goofy music video of old people in a quasi-virtual dance competition directed by Eric Wareheim from like 10 years ago. Also really neat. Some of the best/ well timed reaction shots of really expressive actors I have ever seen, definitely worth watching and then revisiting at 4 in the morning because you can't go back to sleep.

Why You Shouldn’t Be an Artist
WATCH IT HERE!
As people in the creative field, it is a struggle to maintain the drive to make more, and even harder to get up and start making anything at all. This short Youtube video is one I often turn to when I need a kick in the rear to just do what I am passionate about and stop overthinking to the point of never trying.

Talk to Your Kids About Art School.
WATCH IT HERE!
My mom went to art school and warned me many times about the struggles of being an artist. I didn’t listen and went off to film school anyways. I do want to make it very clear that I loved it and thought it was a great choice, but this series of ads is hilarious. All of the ads are done in a vintage 80/90’s style with all of the music sounding like an old VHS. Basically to some this all up talk to your kids about art school.
Lucio Fulci’s The Black Cat
WATCH IT HERE!
Lucio Fulci's The Black Cat is a wonderfully fun giallo film that asks the big questions: just how close can the camera get to Patrick McGee's eyebrows? how many quick zoom-in shots of a cat is too many? is my cat going to kill me? You will laugh and cry as the plot folds in on itself, leaving you with nothing to grasp onto but the style and mood. Fortunately, it's stylish and moody enough to end up being kinda compelling, even if it doesn't make a lot of sense.
