Spencer circa 2007 and his team of media gurus have curated this week’s MIX/VHS, chock-full of feel good entertainment to lift those spirits and carry you into the weekend on a cloud of tiny thumbs up & forced smiles! The roles of men have been ever-changing in this current social climate. Some men find this to be a great chance to support women; some find it scary 'cuz women are mean. This brilliantly hilarious satirical short shows that farcical side of the fence.

An animated short film still in the works, by Tom Roosendaal of the Blender Foundation. This project needed extra funding to make, and to that earn from fans, the production company released this 10 minute pilot footage in 2015. For whatever bizarre reason not enough funding was gathered to bring the full 90 minute idea to life, but I can still watch and rewatch this over and over.

This girl does let's plays of obscure to popular games, and cool music covers. For Halloween, she did an elegantly chilling cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene". She not only performed the song, but did the horror makeup and special effects herself.

Plaid skirts. Crochet. Murder. I don’t know why took me so long to watch Heathers (1988) but I’m so glad that I did because it’s now one of my all-time favorite films — perfect for this time of year. For those who are unfamiliar with this movie, it’s basically a darker, twisted version of Mean Girls, except with even more classic, quotable lines (in my opinion). So grab a slushy because you’re not going to want to miss out on this one!

In the grand scheme of things all of our individual lives mean very little and the cosmic war that is always waging keeps on grinding away. We try to grasp even a fraction of everything around us but it eludes us. To cope many people turn to the bottle or inspirational monologues such as this. My time on earth is fleeting but I know chicken nuggers are eternal and will help my children's children cope when mutant rats created by centuries of pollution lay siege to their town killing anyone that may be unlucky enough to find themselves caught outside past curfew. Yet again I will repeat myself take solace in the chicken nuggers as they will be our salvation.

Tom Watson | Take The Chance | mentor

Three years later, this conversation I had and recorded with one of the most influential men in my life has come full circle. It is so vital that we take the time to celebrate the people who have championed our ambitions and drive, and Tom Watson is one of the greatest mentors in my lifetime. All of the opportunities he gave me, to both succeed and fail, have weaved into my foundation, and have serendipitously brought me to this moment I am in now. Everything happened in the exact order it as supposed to. I am forever grateful for him and these words he gave me (and all of us, really). Forever grateful.
