CASTING CALL for Short Film "Knock at the Door"

Director: Gabrielle Restivo

Project Description:

Minority Lens Class Project – 5 minute short

This is a no-budget, STUDENT film. However, it is eligible for viewing at SXSW.

Roles:

UNCLE DAMIAN: Male actor, African-American, over 60. Due to the nature of the role and the theme of the film, your complexion should be light to medium. THIS ROLE IS NOT THE PERSON WHO IS PASSING. It is the uncle of the person passing. This is a lead role. You will be required to speak as though you’ve had a stroke.

CAITLIN ROMAN: Female actress, 30s through 40s. THIS CHARACTER IS PASSING FOR OTHER THAN HER AFRICAN-AMERICAN HERITAGE. You do not necessarily need to be African-American since this person is passing. You may be one of the following: African-American heritage but fair enough to “pass”, southern European, Latin or Middle Eastern, brown hair/brown eyes and fair-skinned, etc. If you don’t fit this description but feel you might have the right look for a person passing, feel free to contact us for an audition.

JOHANNA: Female actress, African-American, 30s. A social worker who takes care of Uncle Damian. THIS PERSON HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PASSING.

Auditions are Thursday, November 15, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Contact: Please send head shots and resumes to gabriellerestivo19@gmail.com
