We're keeping the super-short, spoiler-free movie reviews coming from SXSW!  It looks like it's going to be a great year for Sci-Fi!

SXSW 2018: Prospect, Dir. Christopher Caldwell and Zeek Earl
Consider, if you will, a bleak and harrowing western filled with colorful damaged characters struggling to just survive...all set on a distant moon in the far reaches of space. May sound like a gimmick, but this film is something strikingly original and completely enthralling. It’s success rides on some of the best world building I’ve ever seen in a movie. From the weathered space tech, to the design of the weaponry, to the subtle changes of the English dialect, it’s all the small touches that flesh out this unique experience. Searing and complex performances combined with design make for some truly groundbreaking and special sci-fi. It blew me away, can you tell?
