Our Community Director Carrie Cates is watching a horror film each day this October, in what she has dubbed 31 Days of Horror! We’ll be posting her spooky cinema journey here every day this month, so check back in to see what she’s watching next!

Arachnophobia

"I actually found this flick to be kind of boring.  I’m personally not super scared of spiders. Sure, I don’t want them touching me or whatever, but ironically enough, my horror-buff husband was really bothered by this movie.  It was fun to lightly touch his arm like a bug was crawling and watch him jump out of his skin.  This is a pretty family-friendly horror film released by Disney, so if you’re looking for a movie to watch with your kids who are too old for the cartoony great pumpkin stuff, but not ready to scar them for life with The Grudge or Saw, this could fit the bill.  I found this available on Hulu, and was somewhat surprised by Hulu’s current selection. Worth looking into if you haven’t yet.

3 out of 5 on the fright-o-meter for jumping, biting, deadly spiders."
