— WHY ARE WE PARTYING?
February 28 is Amplify Austin ~ a city-wide annual day of giving for local area non-profits. For nearly 20 years, our non-profit has provided #Texas with low-cost (much needed) options in education, learning, creative space, resources, and tools within film, art, and creative technology.
Motion Media Arts Center is a 501c(3) non-profit independent film, art, and technology center that supports every aspect of production from creation to presentation. Our goal is to empower, support, and educate emerging artists of all ages to be active participants in shaping our culture and engage communities to rethink the way we view film, art and technology.
We provide alternative ways to work, learn, create, and consume the arts in the digital era. We do this through our programs: Austin School of Film providing over 500+ classes year round in art, film and creative technology and Austin Cinemaker Space - Austin's only non-profit low-cost coworking makerspace & multi-media venue for artists + creatives.
— WHY SUPPORT US?
We believe all people deserve access to learn, work, create, and have meaningful experiences within the arts. The main barrier we have seen with Austin’s sustainability is affordability. Generations of communities and families are being barred from reaching their potential due to socioeconomic disadvantages. One of our most important objectives as an organization is not to only serve those who are active in the arts but for those who have yet to be, by creating unique programming for the community take part in #together.
67% of the people we serve require financial assistance to access education, resources, and to build successful futures.
YOUR SUPPORT plays a vital role in continuing our mission to pave the way for future generations to learn, work, and create.

— A LITTLE CONTEXT
Each year, we serve over 45,000 people of all ages through offering low cost or free access to education, tools, space, programs within art, film, and creative technology.
Since 2002, Austin School of Film's educational classes have explored the vast spectrum & intersection of media arts + technology with classes in film production, post-production, interactive media, creative software, and new media technologies. We support artists, creators, and students in the development of their future education and creative skills through 500 classes year-round and in the creation, presentation and promotion of work through artist/community events and showcases.
Austin Cinemaker Space launched officially 2016 - after two+ years of research, community feedback and completing the development of our expanded home at 2200 Tillery Street. ACS is Austin's first and only nonprofit coworking creative makerspace + venue for artists of all ages and was developed as a real-life response and action to helping address the ongoing issues of displacement of the Austin's arts community (both artists + organizations) while also continuously putting in the time and effort to serve East Austin in the long-term.
