New Immersive Artist-Centered Experiences in Austin

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — JULY 27, 2022

New Immersive Artist-Centered Experiences in Austin

An exciting temporary exhibition opens in the heart of East Austin at Austin Cinemaker Space this Fall.

Austin Cinemaker Space is excited to announce a brand new hybrid residency & exhibition series ARTISTS IN MOTION which aims to invest, amplify, and diversify the local art scene —redefining the culture for artists who are exhibiting work for the first time. ARTISTS IN MOTION co-curates with a local artist each quarter to exhibit and present their work to the community at large through public showcases, events, and a dedicated gallery space.

Austin Cinemaker Space, an umbrella program of long standing arts nonprofit Motion Media Arts Center, launched in 2015 with a mission to help preserve and promote local independent arts & film by investing time, money, space, and resources into Austin’s creative communities. At the heart, Austin Cinemaker Space is a studio + workspace public program for local artists, creatives, and small businesses that also offers professional development, workshops, and networking events.

The nonprofit is collaborating with local analog photographer Sabrina Dennis to create an exclusive one night event centered around analog arts. Attendees will be able to see Sabrina’s analog photography in large-scale alongside a live analog portrait booth operated by Sabrina herself during the event. Attendees will also have the opportunity to experiment with analog photography and capture the night from their perspective with specialty point and shoot 35mm cameras.

Analog DJ set by Temptrix 13 (an Austin based solo musician) will carry the night away spinning records of 80’s synth & underground punk bands. Complimentary bites and sips will be provided by Austin Cinemaker Space & local establishments (tba).
