Nestled in the heart of East Austin, Austin School of Film is a historic haven for physical film formats. From the timeless allure of 16mm to the retro charm of Super 8, our community-centric film school is dedicated to teaching and preserving these traditional film forms. Through immersive classes and workshops, students delve into the world of analog filmmaking, gaining a deep appreciation for the artistry and craftsmanship involved in creating movies on tangible film.
Austin Cinemaker Space, our renowned Studio Access Program, enriches the community by becoming a hub where artists, innovators, and dreamers come together. It's more than just a workspace; it's a full-fledged venue that showcases local arts, fosters connections, and turns aspirations into reality.
As an arts service nonprofit, we were excited to begin a partnership with ATX VHS SWAP! This event goes beyond simple VHS tape exchanges; it's a vibrant gathering that unites collectors, enthusiasts, and the curious. Stories, memories, and of course, VHS tapes are swapped, creating a palpable sense of community and shared passion.
