Project Description:

As the end of senior year approaches, Emie, a black closeted lesbian and her girlfriend, Beth, struggle with their relationship as external pressures collide with their differences.

Roles Available:

Emie (16-18) : A black, intelligent, introverted, and closeted teenager. Who is struggling with making compromises on her dreams to avoid conflict with her family.
Beth (16-18): Emotionally immature, privileged, white gay woman who doesn’t realize her experiences with sexuality aren’t universal.
Kiera (14-16): Straight, popular cheerleader, has conflicts with her sister, Emie, based in her reservations about Emie’s sexuality.
Phillis(mid-40s): Hard working single mother, struggling to come to terms with the growing distance from her daughter, Emie, as she prepares to leave for college.
