October's Events Round Up

As Halloween season descends upon us, the spirit of creativity and the macabre come alive in the world of film.

While many turn to modern horror movies and streaming platforms, there's a thriving community in Austin that still embraces the nostalgic beauty of all things analog, local, and community-centric.

This year, we've curated a series of events that celebrate the essence of local cinema, B-horror, and experimental film.

October 20: "Life is Like a Play" Screening and Q&A

COST: FREE w/ RSVP

To kick off our analog filmmaking extravaganza, join us on October 20 as we celebrate the release of the short film "Life is Like a Play," directed by Olivia Carter. While this film isn't horror in the traditional sense, it delves into macabre themes that will set the tone for the season. The story revolves around Max, who learns that moving on doesn't always mean forgetting after losing their childhood best friend. Doors open at 8:30 pm, and the event is free for all. Stick around for an insightful Q&A session with the cast and crew after the screening.
