The Jinx (dir. by Andrew Jarecki)
WATCH IT HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEPG9z9rHsc
f you're still fiending for some true crime stuff after watching Making a Murderer, than you should check out Andrew Jarecki et al's The Jinx on HBO. It's an excellent series with a final episode that is truly incredible. The series revolves around Robert Durst, a New York real estate heir, who was investigated for three different murders/disappearances. These investigations include his wife's, Kathleen Durst; Morris Black (who, as you will see in the series, was his neighbor in Galveston, TX after fleeing authorities for his wife's disappearance); and long time friend Susan Berman. That's as much as I want to give in this, as the rest of this story is mind-bogglingly insane and it's best to learn about it all at once. Check it out on HBO or buy it on Amazon. I suggest just getting the HBONOW.com free 30 day trial and binge watching it over a weekend as it's only 6 episodes.

Awesome Town (by The Lonely Island)
WATCH IT HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eh2ld_Vt_eQ
Enjoy the pilot for a sketch comedy show the guys of Lonely Island unsuccessfully tried to sell back in 2006. It gets pretty ridiculous at times, but you can see the talent that would one day grace SNL. Jorma and Akiva pair really well with Andy on screen for some very awkward moments. If you enjoyed even a moment of Hot Rod, there's something in this for you. Explosive High Five!

Gaslight (dir. George Cukor)
WATCH IT HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPcYkxmhGs0
If you've heard the phrase "you've been gas lighted" I'm worried about who your friends or significant others are - watch this film and be wary in the future. It is where the phrase "Gas lighted" came from. Ingrid Bergman is stunningly beautiful in this late 1800s deeply disturbing physiological thriller. Set in foggy London It has a claustrophobic terror element that is timeless.

Anamolisa (dir. by Charlie Kaufman & Duke Johnson)
WATCH IT HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Ka833qb4YA
Although it's world is inhabited by puppets and clunky stop-motion animation, Anamolisa is one of the most raw, human films you will come across. In fact, its design is really what takes the film from bare bones basic story of a man in a mid life crisis to something more. In his life, everyone's voice neutral and the same. Literally. His wife's voice is the same as the taxi driver, and the concierge at his hotel, and on and on. It's great auditorial imagery that seems so odd at first, but once you are immersed in it's one of a kind world, it's a one of a kind experience.

Rubber (dir. by Quentin Dupieux)
WATCH IT HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeausJkPyzk
This movie begins with Stephen Spinella climbing out of the trunk of a car in the middle of the desert after slowly hitting a bunch of fake chairs over. He goes on to talk to the audience about how there is no reason in movies or reality and that Rubber is an homage to just that. It is one of the most bizarre and confusing movies I've seen, but still manages to be extremely captivating and hilarious. I don't want to reveal too much of the story, so I'll just say that one of the main characters is a sentient car tire named Robert who has a special power.

King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard - People-Vultures (dir. by Danny Cohen & Jason Galea)
WATCH IT HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6f78_Tf4Tdk
My obsession with King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard has been gradually ramping up ever since I first heard of them a few days ago, and their music videos haven’t been helping. People-Vultures begins as a mystery; a giant egg, a trashed amphitheater, and a bunch of dead Teletubbies. Part of it can be solved by watching the music video for the previous song off Nonagon Infinity, a nice visual complement to the fact that every song on the album flows into one another. But the true source of such destruction is quickly revealed: a giant…well you can probably guess. The rest of the video explores a complex moral quandary, letting the audience draw their own conclusions about which ‘side’ to root for in the obviously metaphorical battle between agrarian overlords and their subservient-
Nah I’m kidding. Just drop some acid and enjoy watching Power Ranger knockoffs battle a twenty foot tall PEOPLE-VULTURE.

Watchtower of Turkey (dir. by Leonardo Dalessandri)
WATCH IT HERE: https://vimeo.com/108018156
A beautiful whirlwind of montaged images. If you didn't have the desire to visit Turkey, or just travel the world in general, you will now. The cinematography and editing are ON. POINT.
