Austin School of Film is a DaVinci Resolve Certified Training Partner for in-classroom & virtual training.

This certified course is perfect for both new and experienced editors who would like to learn DaVinci Resolve Color Correction. Our hands-on training course guides students through a series of practical exercises that teach you how to use DaVinci Resolve’s color correction tools. The workflow based lessons begin with primary tools and scopes for balancing images. Next, you’ll learn how to use secondary tools for more targeted and creative corrections so you can make your own Hollywood caliber grades!

FUN FACT: the most groundbreaking Oscar-nominated films of 2019 (including A Star is Born, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War) all used DaVinci Resolve 15 for post-production, in conjunction with other Blackmagic Design products like the URSA Mini Pro— a camera we cover in our Camera Basics course! Kline has worked as an Assistant Camera/2nd AC on 3 feature films since arrival in Austin and is what you would call a “rarity” in the industry. Kline graduated from the University of Iowa Cinema Program where he produced and DP'd a feature film called Diary of a Superhero which won the Award of Excellence from Iowa Motion Picture Association.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:  Those interested in color correction and color grading. DaVinci is available for both Mac and PC, providing a cost efficient option for building out your editing suite.  Learn the workflows to start editing efficiently and professionally. This class will be broken into three segments for hands-on learning.

NOTE: All in-person software training classes take place in MMAC's iMac computer lab. All software courses are taught on iMac computers. Mac experience is strongly suggested but not required. All virtual classes require the student to have access to a computer with high speed internet.
