AUSTIN SCHOOL OF FILM x SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST FILM

Selected works from Austin School of Film's Narrative, Experimental, Animation and Documentary Filmmaking & Animation courses.

All work is created by real-life students and highlighting their experience as filmmakers and artists through new work and short films. Works extend a wide variety of mediums including: Super 8, 16mm, Digital Filmmaking and more. Come hear the stories of those who live, work, and breathe in the lone star state.

This is an Official South By Southwest (SXSW) showcase. More details concerning the festival can be found at SXSW.com.

HOW TO SUBMIT:

  1. Your film/animation must be completed and produced through an Austin School of Film class from year 2018-2019.

  2. Film/animation must been completed from 2018-2019 calendar year and have not be a featured work in ASoF x SXSW showcase on March 11, 2018.

  3. Must be 5 minutes or under in runtime.

  4. All films must be submitted by February 1, 2019 at 5:00pm CT. No exceptions.

IMPORTANT INFO:

  1. Film/animation must be exported in high rez with credits.

  2. All films will be curated by Austin School of Film team.

  3. All students will be notified of their submission status by February 8, 2019.

  4. All students are eligible to submit to future ASoF showcases including a Community showcase in Summer 2019.

  5. Please double check all spelling is correct on application.

This event is produced by 501c(3) non profit Motion Media Arts Center founded in Austin, Texas in 2002 and South by Southwest inc.


Motion Media Arts Center is an independent film, art, and technology space that supports every aspect of production from creation to presentation. Our goal is empower, support and educate emerging artists of all ages to be active participants in shaping our culture and engage communities to rethink the way we view film, art and technology. We provide alternative ways to work, learn, create, and consume the arts in the digital era.

Our programs include Austin School of Film and Austin Cinemaker Space.
