Students in the certificate program are eligible for placement in internships with a wide variety of Central Texas companies, organizations, and independent productions.

Our classes run year-round and are paid for individually upon registration. The program can be completed in under 2 years, for a fraction of the cost of similar training from the Art Institute. If filmmaking is your passion, the Digital Video Certificate Program is the fastest way to get your foot in the door - from creating your first short film to becoming a proficient editor.

Our iMac editing lab is open to all Digital Video Certificate students at any time. All lab computers feature the latest versions of the Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, Cinema4D, and more. Students also have access to our creative coworking spaces, room reservations, gear rentals and in-house supplies & resources.

There are no registration deadlines or any prerequisites for Certificate Program enrollment. There is a one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $50, but enrolling in the certificate program entitles students to a 10% discount on all applicable classes.

WHY CHOOSE OUR PROGRAM?

The Austin School of Film's Digital Video Certificate Program (DVCP) will provide the technical foundation you need to prepare for work with individual clients, independent production companies, or commercial post-production houses, & how to develop your reel to attract future freelance contracts. Though the focus of the program is acquisition of technical skills such as sound, camera, lighting, & editing, our DVCP students are given the flexibility to choose electives that either add extra depth to their creative experience, or augment their growing technical skill set for a competitive edge. Electives include screenwriting, directing, experimental filmmaking, software, & more!

Classes are taught by Austin-based professionals who are active within the film & creative industries. Based in East Austin for over 15 years, we continue to be— first and foremost —a community-focused arts & technology school that offers affordable accessible classes in film, animation & digital media arts in an intimate setting. The Digital Video Certificate Program caters to individual students, offering small classes & affordable training.
