SUMMER CAMP: Documentary Filmmaking (ages 13-16)

275.00

This summer, tell your story and support the voices of the people who make our communities— from forgotten truths to defining life moments.

ASoF's Documentary Filmmaking camp explores history through conceptual analysis of what defines a “documentary". Campers will create their own documentary short film— learning technical aspects of filmmaking, and developing their story— guided through the production of their own complete films. Campers will work together, sharing ideas and collaborating, to create their own 5 minute short documentary film with hands-on exercises in composition, camera movement, storyboarding, image, sound development and editing on a professional platform such as Final Cut Pro X or Adobe Premiere Pro.

Campers will experience every step needed to create a real short film, taking on crew roles such as: Gaffer (lighting), Boom Operator (sound), Editor, Camera, Producer, and Director while using real professional equipment and industry standard platforms. All campers will leave camp with a copy of their short films, easily shareable for family and friends.

All films & creative projects completed in ASoF camps will screen for the public as part of our annual Loud & Clear Youth Film Festival at Alamo Drafthouse in August 2019. All camps are a flat fee of $275 with no additional costs and include a free summer camp t-shirt for each camper registered.
