Intro to Final Cut Pro X


This hands-on creative software course is designed for beginners who have little to no experience using Final Cut Pro X and/or editing film and video. This course covers basic non-linear editing techniques with Final Cut Pro X software through: demonstrations, hands-on instruction; and footage provided by Austin School of Film.

Students will learn how to efficiently work the Final Cut Pro X interface to cut, add and rearrange media, organize their browser, apply transitions, audio editing and creation, placing graphics and titling.

INSTRUCTOR: Justine Spinoza is a certified Final Cut Pro X instructor, editor and a camera op in Austin, TX. Before moving to Austin she spent time in Orlando, FL where she taught editing and motion graphics at Full Sail University. She has worked as a freelance editor and camera op for various local television networks and clients. Justine holds a B.S. in Broadcasting from Southeastern University.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Whether you are an editor transitioning from other editing platforms like Avid, Sony Vegas, iMovie and Adobe Premiere, and Final Cut Pro 7 to Final Cut Pro X or you are just getting your feet wet; this workshop will provide a good introduction to the skills needed to edit effectively. 

PRE-REQUISITES: None necessary. Beginners welcome. Students must be at least 16 years old to take this class.

SUPPLIES: all supplies included including iMac work station. 

CERTIFICATE: ASoF Digital Video Certificate core class.

This course and all ASoF courses are certified with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to provide Continue Professional Educational (CPE) credits.
