This 12-hour beginner's course provides an introduction to Cinema4D: professional-grade software for the creation of 3D art works. 

The objective of this course is to provide students with a concise introduction to Cinema4D and its many applications in design, motion graphics, VFX & 3D animation space.

Topics covered include:

  • the material editor UI & render engine

  • 3D title design & animation

  • using dynamics to simulate real world physics, & the powerful MoGraph module for creating procedural animations.

INSTRUCTOR: Nathan Bayless has a Radio-TV-Film degree from Indiana State University and has been working in Austin film and video production since 2008. He has worked on films, commercials, and television series as an animator, director, editor, writer, production assistant, and just about everything in between. His most recent film work was as a colorist on TOWER, a rotoscope animated feature film that premiered and won multiple awards at SXSW 2016.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: students interested in design, motion graphics, VFX (or with a general curiosity about 3D animation) & those working towards their Digital Video Certificate. Students must be at least 18 years old to take this class.

NOTE: All software training classes take place in MMAC's iMac computer lab. All software courses are taught on iMac computers. Mac experience is strongly suggested but not required.

CERTIFICATE: DVCP elective course

PRE-REQUISITES: Intro to Adobe After Effects, Intro to Adobe Photoshop or (at minimum) the equivalent foundation of understanding Adobe CC software used for design & video production.

SUPPLIES: all supplies provided including iMac workstation
