Adobe Illustrator can be used to accomplish many different design tasks, from illustration to app development. This course demonstrates core concepts and techniques that can be applied to any workflow—for print, the web, or building assets that will find their way into other applications.This 4-week class will cover working with vector shapes, text manipulation, painting tools and technique, using filters with objects, brushes settings, swatches, creating gradients, managing multiple layers, 2D transformations, importing bitmap graphic and file formats for output. This class is for the beginning user of Adobe Illustrator.

INSTRUCTOR: Alie Jackson is a Multimedia Artist, Art Director and 2D Motion Designer born and raised in Austin, TX. She received her B.F.A. from Stephen F. Austin State University with a focus on Advertising Design and Photography. As a multimedia artist, she has screened experimental films and music videos at Transform Film Festival, Austin Music Video Festival and was the Boss Babes Resident Artist for February/March 2018. Alie currently works as an Art Director and the Lead Designer at Project C where she specializes in creating interactive experiences for entertainment clients such as ABC, FX, Disney, Amazon Studios, Marvel and more.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: this class is intended for people who are brand new to Illustrator, as well as basic users who wish to fill in gaps in their knowledge.

PRE-REQUISITES: none necessary; all levels welcome!


SUPPLIES: all supplies provided for the duration of this workshop, including iMac workstation & software.
