Students ages 14 - 18 are invited to make an episode of a current student produced telenovela, Mundos Diferentes. This is a great opportunity for students to learn how to create a telenovela in Spanish and learn the basics of filmmaking through an innovative crew format. This after-school program provides hands-on exercises in composition, camera movement, storyboarding, image, sound development and editing instruction in Final Cut Pro. Students will also be encouraged to incorporate their experiences during the writing process and to play all the crew roles including acting during the shoots. They will also have the chance to work with guest star teachers. Not only will students gain invaluable production experience, but also gain necessary skills for their future careers.

Se les invita a estudiantes entre 14 y 18 años a realizar un episodio de Mundos Diferentes, una telenovela recientemente producida por estudiantes de Austin School of Film. Esta es una gran oportunidad para que los jóvenes aprendan como crear una telenovela en español y conozcan los elementos básicos del cine por medio de un formato de equipo innovador. En el programa, el cual será en horario despues de clases, cuenta con ejercicios en donde los alumnos practicarán la composición, el manejo de cámara, storyboarding (guión gráfico), imagen, sonido y edición en Final Cut Pro. Los estudiantes podrán incorporar sus propias experiencias en el capítulo y realizarán diferentes labores incluyendo actuación. Además tendrán la oportunidad de trabajar con profesionales de la industria cinematográfica. Esta experiencia les dará herramientas que son necesarias para una profesión futura.

Cine Joven es patrocinado por fondos privados y de empresas grandes. Por parte de estos fondos, Cine Joven ofrece becas de acuerdo a los ingresos de los estudiantes.
