Since 2003, we have served over 100,000 people directly through providing education and resources within media arts + technology by supporting local creators of all ages in the development of their skills through over 500 classes & programs each year and in the creation, presentation and promotion of their work through. Our events include four Official SXSW showcases and curation of city-wide arts + creative event, Keep Austin Creating.
We celebrate cultural diversity to give voice to and bring together communities across the region’s demographic landscape through our outreach programs such as Cine Joven: Filmmaking in Spanish, developed for historically underserved and at-risk teen youth. This program alone has served over 3,000 youth students alone.
Each year, Motion Media Arts Center serves over 5,000 students and community members through our programs, the Austin School of Film and Austin Cinemaker Space. 67% require financial assistance to access education, resources and to build successful futures. Of those, 71% of our graduate students in existing certificate programs offered have been placed in jobs within their desired fields and 95% of art works completed at or through us have been exhibited in international showcases. This is not only a direct reflection of the individual student’s accomplishments through access to educational needs, but another way to lend a hand in fostering the Austin arts economy and affordability with local families and people of all ages and backgrounds.
Our goal is to continue to sustain an accessible arts + tech hub for the community - not only those already actively aware of digital arts but those who are interested or yet to be. Opening doors and making it a financially viable option by providing alternative education and a community space to grow. Together. With your help, we can continue our mission to serve the ever-growing Central Texas community. Your support is a vital part in continuing our mission and paving the pathway for future generations to work, learn and create.
Motion Media Arts Center is a 501c(3) non-profit independent film, art, and technology center that supports every aspect of production from idea to distribution. Our goal is to educate, train, and develop emerging artists of all ages to be active participants in shaping our culture. We are dedicated to the belief that film, art and technology can be and are financially accessible art forms both in and outside of the classroom. Our programs include Austin School of Film and Austin Cinemaker Space.
Keep Austin Creating. Keep Austin Working. Keep Austin Learning.
